Real?

"One Call Away" -Charlie Puth

One cold night of January. A girl is travelling from her parent's house to her grandparents. The occasion has just finished and her father insisted that he would drive her and her aunts and cousins to her grandmothers.

The sky was full of stars like every usual night. They were almost there when their vehicle stopped. Apparently her father forgot to fill it up with gas. They all had to come out or else they would sweat all through the waiting process.

Luckily they were in a familiar place and others decided to help them. When all off this hullabaloo was happening, the girl decided to enter the very familiar store. She just sat there.

The quiet place reminded her all the problems she is facing right now. Being drowned in her thoughts she had not realized that tears was falling from her eyes until someone put a handkerchief in her face. She got startled but when she looked up, it was a very familiar face. The boy finally spoke,

"Here you go, stop crying. Tama na yann...

The girl can't help but smile. The boy immediately sat next to her and the both of them was silent. Each other wanted to start a conversation but they just couldn't get the words out.

Everything was quiet. They didn't hear all the talks of panic of both her dad and his mom. It seems as if they were in their own silent world.

Then all of the sudden, a cold breeze hit them both. The girl suddenly shivered as she was only wearing a white shirt and pants. The boy noticed and he immediately took of his jacket. He was about to put the jacket on her shoulders but he noticed that the girl has her head down and slightly sniffing. He felt slightly defeated because he can't help the girl next to her. He then put the jacket on the girl's shoulder and turned to her. He held out his hand to her chin and made the girl look at her. And when she finally did look at her, he saw pain and sorrow in her eyes. He can't help but raise his left arm and wrap around her shoulders which she automatically placed her head on his shoulders.

Both still not talking. Both enjoying their presence. Everything was silent when suddenly the boy started singing, "I'm only one call away. I'll be there to save the day, Superman got nothing on me. I'm only one call away.."

While singing, the boy let go. He looked straight into her eyes. She stopped crying finally. They were just staring at each others eyes. Still humming when someone coughed.

"Sorry to interrupt but can the both of you go to the house and tell your grandmother." It was her aunt, having that teasing smile on her face. They both nodded. Her aunt left and they were alone was again. The boy stood up and held out his hand. She gladly accepted it. They both walked out the store and started walking to her grandmother's.

The compound was quiet. Maybe for a reason that it was already 10:30 pm at night already. They were walking silently, the only thing you can hear are the crickets. It was not that dark because of the moonlight. They past the field that was familiar with the girl. She got drowned by how the scenery looked. The girl had not noticed that the boy stopped. When she looked behind her and saw the boy standing in the moonlight only looking at her smiling. He called her back and she ran as fast as she can. When she got there she was also amazed at what she saw. She then looked at the boy and he was smiling at her.

They were zoned out with each other. The boy raised his arms indicating a hug. The girl stepped closer to him and accepted the hug, The boy finally spoke,

"A princess should never cry. Whatever or whoever is making you cry, they are not worth it. Remember you are a princess to me. And that will never change."

She looked up at the boy funny. She spoke,
"Weh.. You will get married someday and that will be your NEW princess. NOT ME..."

The boy finally laughed. It was like music to her ears whenever he laughs.
"Sira ka talaga! Theres a difference  between  a WIFE AND PRINCESS... And even if I do marry, yes I may have a wife by then but you will still be MY ONLY PRINCESS..."

The girl can't find her voice. The only thing she did was to hug him tight and said a very sincere "THANK YOU"

They both were enjoying each others presence when she felt a shake.

Her eyes suddenly opened. It was only a dream, but it felt too REAL for her.
